Anime Midwest is basically ACen’s chill cousin. Same Rosemont setup—Hyatt Regency O’Hare and Stephens Center—but it hits in July, right when summer vibes are peaking.
Getting Here – Fly into O’Hare (ORD) again; you’re only a few minutes away. Blue Line Rosemont stop works too if you’re coming from the city.
Where to Stay – All the usual suspects: Hyatt, Embassy Suites, DoubleTree. They’ve got free airport shuttles, and you’ll probably see cosplayers in the hotel lobbies day and night.
Cosplay Highlights – This con has its own flavor. There’s a cosplay masquerade, a Maid Café (yup, full-on themed servers), late-night raves, and even a quirky date auction. Plus, the ConSweet lounge hands out FREE ramen, rice, oatmeal, and soda. Don’t be shy about grabbing a snack—it’s part of the tradition.
Insider Tip – Bring a travel mug if you plan on living off ConSweet goodies. You’ll thank me later.
